About Ms. Sloan
Hello! If you are wondering about me, here's some information about who I am and what I do! This is my fifth year teaching 5th and 6th grade math and my first year teaching science. Prior to working in the York City Schools, I was a math paraprofessional in the Red Lion Schools and a teacher at Parker Middle School in Taunton, Massachusetts. I love teaching math because it's amazing to see how many different ways students can solve a problem and get the same answer. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and Elementary Education from Framingham State University, and a Master's Degree in Special Education from Bridgewater State University. I knew I wanted to be a teacher since I was little, and I'm so lucky that I am able to do that now!
When I'm not at school, I love to watch the Patriots and the Bruins win! A life goal of mine is to watch a game in all 32 NFL stadiums. So far I've checked 5 off the list. As a 5th grader, one of my favorite classes was art. I love to draw. Since I don't take art classes anymore, my new favorite form of art is photography. I bought a new camera and I am trying to learn more about photography for fun.
